Breaktime Snacks
As a healthy school we encourage our children to eat a healthy balanced diet including healthy snacks.  We appreciate that children often get hungry during the morning and might want a snack at breaktime.  Reception, Year 1 and 2 children receive free fruit every day as part of the government’s programme to encourage healthy eating.  All children in school are welcome to bring a snack such as:
Fruit
Dried fruit
Fruit bars
Rice cakes
Muesli bars without chocolate/marshmallow
Cheese
Cream cheese
Squeezy yoghurts
Crackers
Breadsticks
We don’t allow the children to eat chocolate, sweets, sweet biscuits, cakes or crisps at breaktimes particularly because this often leads to other children pestering parents to bring such snacks into school and makes it more difficult for parents who are trying to encourage their children to eat a healthy snack.
