Our School

Latest Update

Dear Parents,

The latest update from Lancashire County Council is that schools across the county can begin the wider reopening of schools from Monday 22nd June. As such, we will begin to welcome back children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 next Monday.

We will continue to be open for children of key workers in all year groups as we have been throughout.

Please find attached two letters from Mrs Brough with details about the wider reopening of school for Rec, Yr1 and Yr6 children.

Follow 'Our Learning' and click on the relevant class to find a range of resources for children to complete at home. Click on the 'Home Learning' tab to see photos of all the wonderful learning that has been happening at home.

Our main forms of communicating new information to you are through email, our website and the school Facebook pages. Whole school information will be posted on this homepage but specific class information will be on the class pages, under the tab 'Our Learning' (see left). We have two facebook areas. We have a public school page. That page really celebrates what we are doing in school (or at the moment, what we are learning at home!). I will share some photos of good examples of home learning to that page. The second area on Facebook is a closed group called Nether Kellet Primary School. That is really a community area for us all to share ideas and help each other. People often ask questions on there and other parents answer. Recently, parents have been sharing links for different ideas out there for home learning.

If you have questions for us you have two options. Firstly, you can email the class teachers directly (see class pages for email addresses). Secondly, you can call school. Health allowing, there will always be teachers in school who can help.

Please be patient with us. We will continue to do our best to support you and your child through this as much as we can.

Photos of the wonderful learning that has been happening at home can be found by following the home learning tab.

Our guitar tutor, Pete, has sent through the following information for children who normally have guitar lessons with him in school. Please see the document attached.

Attached you will find a letter with details regarding the school closure. Please read this letter carefully.

Support for Y6 children

| - online support for young people

Kooth is a web based confidential support service available to young people age 10-16. Kooth provides a safe and secure means of accessing mental health and wellbeing support designed specifically for young people. Kooth offers young people the opportunity to have a text-based conversation with a qualified counsellor. Counsellors are available from 12noon to 10pm on weekdays and 6pm to 10 pm at weekends, every day of the year on a drop-in basis. Young people can access regular booked online counselling sessions as needed. Outside counselling hours young people can message our team and get support by the next day. When students register with Kooth they will have support available to them now and in the future. Support can be gained not only through counselling but articles, forums and discussion boards. All content is age appropriate, clinically approved and fully moderated. To find out more visit where young people can register and others can find out more about the service.  You can also view a short video about the service at:
